It seems like only yesterday I wrote a blog headline reading “2,998,347 and Rising!” How quaint. Since that time, an Alexa search reveals that TheChaosScenario.net is ranked 2,133,407 of all websites in the world — a jump of 664,960 places in 10 days.
But we refuse to rest on our laurels. Mark my words, TheChaosScenario.net will reach 2,133,406 before long. And then…well, who knows? But I personally think 2,125,012 is well within reach. Or even 2,125, 002.
Why be afraid to dream?

I am an academic who teaches advertising theory and design for over 20 years. I couldn’t agree more with what you are saying. I used to work at McGraw-Hill but in 1987 we built the first CD-ROM for MH. It was then I knew the end was closing in rapidly. I moved to academia and consulting in educational technology. I’ve been through the first dot.com bubble and I know that this time around it is not a bubble it is a game changer.
Chris Anderson has it right - FREE and freemium. Publishing has got to relook at it’s revenue streams. Please checkout my website and see what we do.

it is for use by the educational marketplace. We are trying to get PlasticLogic’s attention. Great stuff keep going.

Bob, all you ever post about is your search engine ranking! As a fan, I would love to see more from you on this site than twitters about how web your web analytics reports look!

Fair point. You will indeed be seeing more of me, and of my fellow Chaotics, in coming days and weeks. Rest assured.

Great point Ben. I’ll try to write a post later today showing a variety of analytic data for the site, sales, social media chatter, etc. GS

mr. Garfield,
Would you be willing to come speak to my graduate class. I am recommending TheChaos Scenario as class reading for this semester. I teach Web theory along with software. But I primarily focus on the development of a media plan using Web technologies. I have been advocating what you have written for the last five years. Please see my blog and tell me if we share the same views.
